Counteracting Hoon Driving Habits in Order to be Safe
Nothing is more scary or annoying than driving on a road minding your own business when you happen to notice a motorist to the side who seems unable to keep their car in the lane. This could be a warning sign that the driver is a hoon, or driving drunk. These people are dangerous since they have so little regard for others on the road and the rules of the road.
Aside from the obvious of staying far clear of hoon drivers, one should
stick to some safe driving habits while encountering a disabled driver.
First, if one sees a hoon driver, keep a safe distance and take notice
of where the driver is heading, and what is the make and year of the
automobile they are driving. While keeping those figures in your head,
pull over and call the local authorities and alert them of the impaired
driver.
Don't be a hero. Now isn't the time to try and pull along side of a hoon
driver and force them to pull over and walk it off. Nor should you try
to speed ahead of the driver and cut them off, any sudden movement could
cause a reaction from the driver and since the drink has slowed their
reaction time, they may forget to slam on the breaks and hit you.
It might be a good idea to raise the fines for hoon driving to
discourage a driver from behaving in such a manner, till then; drive
safe and keep a look out for bad driving.
